Captivating Cadaqués

If I were to build my own house, I’d always think about Salvador Dali’s place in Cadaqués, Spain - a Catalan town bordering France. It was so dreamy, sitting in a tranquil riverside.

After a climb at Cap de Creus, grabbing some tapas and coffee and seeing the locals of Cataluña moving to the grooves of their traditional dance on the street, S and I headed for Dali’s corner of the town. The bilingual guided tour (Spanish and French) started at two in the afternoon. We arrived there a few minutes before the start so we took advantage of the magical view there was in his front yard, a river. No wonder this man had all the inspiration he needed to create art. If you had this view to look at every day, wouldn’t you feel the gush of creativity coming in?

His house is odd. Which is exactly why it was interesting. Much thought was given to its construction and everything was made according to how Dali wished it to be.

I can’t even choose which of the many rooms my favorite is! I’d very much like to spend time in each and every one of them.

We finished the tour about an hour later and we were free to roam around the garden.

Sadly, we had to head back on the road to France before sunset. I would’ve wanted to stay longer. I could even live here.
