Who are we? If not what we do.

For a long time, I was no exception to this universal tendency. When asked, "Who are you?" my instinctual response would mirror the tasks and responsibilities that consumed my daily life. But as the poet Rumi once wisely penned, "Do not be satisfied with the stories that come before you. Unfold your own myth." It was time for me to untangle my identity from the constraints of societal expectations.

What to eat and what to eat less of

I gave in and had my food intolerance test one Tuesday afternoon at Life Science Center, Taguig. After a month of receiving the results, I have achieved what I wanted in the first place: be more informed with the food I am eating. I have been better at food prep and been eating mostly fresh, organic food: vegetables and fruits. I also have slept better since. The combination of all these three types of medicine - traditional, alternative and functional - is a holistic approach that will make you have better control of your health.

Becoming Minimalist

Three years later I have reaped the benefits of becoming a minimalist. I say becoming because throughout the course of purging and mindful purchase, usage and possession, I have come to realize that minimalism is a never-ending process. It does not have to be a frustrating journey with no end. It’s simply a lifestyle.

In Response to Adulting from 2016

What is adulting? I’ve always thought it was being self-made, being independent, or confident. I got this concept from one of the books I’ve recently read, which joins every bit of idea I have of it: Adulting means self control. The ultimate mastery of being an adult is calmness - the state of being calm.
