About Leni on the road
Hello! I’m Leni.
I attempt to capture fleeting moments, and write about stories of the in-betweens, the almosts, the quiet joys - from my notes here, there, somewhere, everywhere and from nowhere.
Hello, and welcome to my corner of the internet. I'm Leni, of Leni on the Road. I've always been drawn to the quiet beauty of the journey, the unexpected twists, the still moments, the stories that unfold when you stop rushing. This space has been my way of capturing those moments, of documenting the path I’ve walked, and the one I’m still finding my way down.
My story began in the Philippines, where I grew up, went to school, and started my professional life. But it wasn’t until 2012, when I left my home country to study abroad, that I started taking blogging seriously. That first solo trip, the initial sense of being lost and yet entirely found in a new place, sparked something in me. And so, this online space keeps reinventing itself, not just as a blog, but as a quiet witness to my misadventures, my growth, and the stillness I often found between all the movements.
Since then, life has taken me further, from my first student exchange in Europe to my new home in France. Along the way, my blog has evolved, too. It’s no longer just about the excitement of a first trip or the wonder of stepping into the unknown. It’s about what happens after that, how we keep traveling, even when we’re still, and how we move through time, through memories, through the people and places that shape us.
Here, I write about travel, yes, but also about life abroad, the small, quiet moments that stay with you, and the little things that often go unnoticed but mean everything. You’ll find musings on nostalgia, reflections on self-development, and stories that don’t always make it to the postcards. I also share tips on language learning and travel guides, for anyone looking to take their step off the beaten path.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the journey doesn’t always need to be fast or loud. Sometimes, the most important stories come from the quiet pauses, the spaces in between. And so, if you’re someone who’s ever been drawn to the slow, thoughtful side of life, whether you’re a fellow traveler, a language learner, or someone just searching for a space to breathe, I invite you to join me on this road.
Together, let’s chat about it on the long way home.
