Life Update : March 2017

Half way through March, what has been going on with life lately ? I have my fair share of ups and downs for the past month, it's crazy. I think I'm on the brink of going insane. To prevent any of that, I try to go back to what I find most relaxing and fulfilling : journaling and blogging.

How ironic is it that writing isn't my strong suit and yet I find solace in doing so ? Maybe not writing for a purpose – purpose of approval of other people. I like writing, writing for myself. I'm an extroverted introvert. The introvert in me finds writing as its venue for release and expression of my innermost thoughts and feelings.

Aside from reviving two passions I have to stay sane, I also went to a trip to Basel, Switzerland with B (which I should be writing about, soon) ! That trip proved to be really costly yet comfortable. Comfort does have its price. Anyway, I'm quite short in budget right now and it seems to be – though I'm still hoping it isn't – the last trip I would have before leaving my host city.

So far, I'm between reading French and English texts and my attitude towards French texts hasn't been positive. Dare I say : annoying. I have to insert reading English texts in between because I get frustrated with French writing. My attention span seems to be a lot shorter with French texts than English.

I'm six pages in for my thesis writing, with a hundred percent chance of that getting modified or worse, rejected. Unless I hear anything back from my adviser and boss, nothing could stop me from writing further about what I have at hand now. Little by little, I have ideas here and there that pop up. I write them down without a care for proper grammar because I realized that focusing too much on accuracy impedes the flow of my ideas. I think (and I hope) that I would (have time to) take care of structure, organization and grammar later on and just focus on content and ideas for the mean time.
