Nice, France : August 2012
First day in France was exhausting ! We barely got any sleep from our almost 20 hour flight from the Philippines to Nice ! Moreover, we had to move in right away to our residence and then head straight to the bank. Although I would like to thank Mlle Julie for making it a lot easier for us. She picked us up from the airport, dropped us off in the residence and took us to the bank. But to head back to the residence, we had to take the bus. My first bus experience wasn’t so nice. Imagine this: you are a foreigner, extremely tired, dehydrated, hungry and clueless of the city and how things run around and then suddenly, you get rejected riding a bus. I mean c’mon, how on earth am I going to interpret that? My mind right away said : discrimination !!! But Ricky explained that maybe there were far too many people riding that particular bus at that particular time. Thank God we get to ride the next one successfully.
Later that afternoon, after a few hours of unpacking, resting, taking a shower and just simply breathing, with maps on hand and thanks to Ricky’s previous experience in Europe, we went around the center. I had no camera with me in the morning and purchased one later in the afternoon. Finally, my camera of my dreams are in the palm of my hands. It’s not a dSLR but this is just simply worth it. I got a Samsung DV300F which I think is perfect for travelers like me. It’s has a chic design in my preferred color (red), extremely light, dual screen and enormous selection of modes and settings plus wifi for only 180 € ! Roughly around 10 000 Php. Not so bad, hein !
I suffered blisters at the end of the day but at least I’m alive and healthy. Finally, I made it! I’m in France!
