Amazonia

Being a student and under 26 years of age is the best time to be in France. You get most of the things there are to see and experience for free. And one of which is a free visit tonight to the exhibit of the Amazon at Panorama XXL. At first, it was disappointing. You have these neatly done posters upon entry, a projector showing the journey of the artist to the Amazon and then a gallery of his sketches. Further into the exhibit, is a room where they teach you survival tips if ever you find yourself stranded in the rain forest. They even have real worms to feed visitors who are brave enough to try ! And no, I did not dare try one, thank you.

Then you enter this enormous room, surrounded with a huge montage of the Amazon. We can even climb four levels up to have the 'look-and-feel' on what it would be like! The play of lights made it seem like it were night or day, sunny and rainy. You get the extreme conditions that could all possibly happen in the rain forest. In less than an hour, I spent three days in the Amazon in all possible weather conditions. How cool is that ?For a free visit, it was not so bad ! On a regular day, entry would cost 6 EUR. While it was a great sight, I would not pay 6 EUR to see such thing.
