I went around the city with a stranger

It has been a good week. The sun was always shining. Tomorrow, it will be another typical rainy day.Today, I took a long walk to the bus station that will get me to the Musée de Beaux Arts in Rouen. Entrance is free for students, those on the look for a job and those under 26 years of age. Today, however, since it is the first Sunday of the month, entrance is free for all.

There are all types of paintings, sculptures and furniture from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. What fascinated me most are the furniture, the mirrors and most especially, the clocks.

The main highlight of my visit was seeing Monet's paintings, notably that of the garden in Giverny.

I left an hour later and took a picture of the building's façade (since the building is art itself). What happened next is beyond my expectations.

Normally, we're not supposed to talk with strangers. I just had an afternoon walk with one. Just before I left the area, a man on the nearby bench caught my attention and asked where I was from. Like the others, he could not get it right the first time. Eventually, he did guess it right. He seemed like a nice person so I decided to stay a little longer and have a nice little chat. Later, he showed me where to garage sale was taking place (I previously was intentionally going to the garage sale), accompanied me throughout my shopping (I don't like company when I'm shopping because I don't want to make people wait but he stayed anyway), bought three packs of strawberries for 5 EUR (sweet deal!) and chatted more while waiting for the bus back home.He invited me for lunch back in his aunt's castle with a huge garden (his words, not mine, but translated by me) which I politely I refused for obvious reasons. On the bus back home, I came across my neighbor whom I have been seeing for so long but never get to formally introduce myself. She was so nice ! I'm glad she made the first move to engage in a conversation because I wanted to the moment I saw her step in the bus but I hesitated. What a good way to start the week ahead !
