Midnight Sunset

I long to see the midnight sun. It is one of the items in my imaginary bucket list. Oh well, wish granted, almost! It's not too glorious as my body is still not accustomed to sun setting after 6pm. While my mind has adjusted to the fact that in this part of the world, the sun and the moon appear in different hours of the day depending on the season, my body just can't seem to cope. I've been skipping dinner because my body refuses to dine in broad daylight. I sleep later because, even if I close the drapes, light still enters my tiny room. I try to fool myself but I can't seem to be fooled.

Yesterday was the last day of spring and today, 21 June - the longest day of the year, marks the first day of summer. Days will start to shorten starting today. I don't know how my body will cope in three weeks when I go back to regular programming - that is to say, sunsets at 5:30pm-ish back in the Philippines. And then again prolonged daylight once I go back to France in late August!

How do frequent travelers cope and adjust? I need tips!
