A Day in the Life of a Lithuanian Summer School Student - a Vlog
I have had this in draft for many months now! This morning, I was finally able to finalize this project and share it with the you. In this 5-minute video, I dare chronicle my (mundane) morning ritual(s) and how I prep for summer school while I was away for a month in Lithuania for the second time around. Although entitled "a day in the life", it only features the beginning of my day and a sneak peek of my activities because I wanted to protect the identity of my peers (privacy is a big deal in Europe), although you do get to see a bit of our faces, I hope my friend Dora doesn't mind a one-second-long Internet exposure. I do have a bunch of other videos on my other activities though!
This one in particular is my (ridiculous) attempt to "practice" the Lithuanian I learned for two months (in a span of two years though). I must admit that I had a little help from Google although I also spent an incredible amount of time trying to double check everything as much as I could from my modules. I have but a few resources I can use in Lithuanian so I'd appreciate comments which would educate me rather than mock me.
Back story...
In 2018, I went to Lithuania for the first time ever to get acquainted with this foreign language and culture. I came back for more in 2019 and now, it was no longer a foreign experience but it felt more like the comfort of home. As I get comfortable in my new summer home, I decided to film one of my quiet mornings in solace before my boyfriend and Japanese neighbor came to join me in our temporary little quarters in the University dorm.
Even as I get worse (to worst) in filming and editing, I am still proud to have accomplished this passion project I have long put off for several years and opportunities. Peek inside my world in Lithuania.
