A weekend in Dordogne
Yet another getaway, this time, to the Southwest of France. The Western part of France (both North and South) has the lowest known number of cases of Covid. Since we are not bound by any local lockdowns* (just a 6 pm to 6 am curfew), we carefully and consciously plan our short trips to get some fresh air outside of the French capital. This weekend, we were invited to come to a friend’s place in Dordogne.
It was the perfect weekend away from the crowd in the Parisian region, together with Friend’s childhood mate. Their relationship reminds me of my very own childhood companions back Home. We had a socially distanced game night, meals, discussions, hours of petting cats and dogs, and a quick visit to the nearby town of Bergerac, known for the theatre play Cyrano de Bergerac. We also get to meet Friend’s family over a socially-distanced brunch and her extended family over dessert, cider, and tea.
