Why Warsaw?

First, I know very little of Eastern/Central Europe and I said to myself, why not go explore? As an old college friend of mine was settling in Poland, I said, okay, why not Poland? Except that she isn’t based in Warsaw but further north in Gdansk. That’s reason two. Reason three would be because flights that fly direct Paris – Gdansk were hella expensive, and that to Warsaw was only about 20 EUR. Sweet deal! So I decided to spend the weekend in Warsaw before seeing my friend Jan to her city.

Chartres : March 2016

Chartres is a city southwest of Paris. We did not spend too much time there. After getting inside the the city’s well-known cathedral, we went to the nearby café to get some coffees, hot chocolates and for Marion, two dry saucissons!

Thermal Pool at Yverdon : October 2015

The drive to Switzerland was calm. We were chasing the sunset and while we were at it, I get to enjoy the view through the long way Eve decided to take so I could appreciate the landscape. I sure did.

I had a week off from school in October. For this vacation, I went to the other side of the country to visit the mother of a very good friend of mine who lives in the small city of Pontarlier in Franche-Comté, east of France, bordering Switzerland.

Weekend in Paris

I have spent many weekends in Paris that I lost count. In spite this, I still can never get used to it. I admit, without an internet connection and apps such as Google Maps or RATP (metro lines app), I'd still be lost. Paris, of course, has its charms. It is, indeed, beautiful.

Day after the terror : Mont Saint Michel : November 2015

I spent eight years under Benedictine formation. I lived by the words 'simplicity of lifestyle' and the latin phrase 'ora et labora' (pray and work). When I knew years later from French history class that Benedictine monks settled here (for years!), I knew I needed to go see this myself.
