Plage Massena and leaving
T’was hard to get up in the morning, (warning: profane language ahead) wanted to shot myself dead out of boredom but I made it out the training alive. I did have an interesting exchange with Christine, our Canadian trainer about spirituality. I think she may have wanted to speak to me more about it this weekend (as she seem to imply from our exchange) but I’m leaving on Saturday, how unfortunate.
I went home to eat lunch, still no appetite. I had my usual tuna sandwich and yogurt to eat then, siesta. Afterwards, I gathered all the courage to head to the beach.
It was crowded. The water was cold, just how I like it. However, I didn’t like that beach (one near Massena) because the stones were too high and big and the waves just carried me along with it. I stayed for at least an hour, read my book, munched on some strawberries.
I took the tram back and joined Sophie and Jethro. I think Sophie may have not appreciated the jokes we keep making her so I hope it’s not yet too late to stop and hope she’d still choose to meet with us. Tomorrow, Philippa will come over to Nice so I need to prepare myself for more interaction. I can’t wait though!
Two days and I’m off to Klaipeda. I feel like I haven’t made the most out of this trip but no pressure.
I had kebab for dinner because I suddenly felt like eating. Now I regret it because I’m stuffed.
NICE, THE THIRD TIME AROUND
The second and last time I was in Nice was in August of 2015. Since then, I have not thought nor planned about going back anytime soon. So when I was granted a free two-week training in Nice in summer of 2019, I grabbed the opportunity right away. I was hesitant at first because my plans (not to mention budget allocation) was set entirely for one month in Lithuania. Even with a generous scholarship, going to both France and Lithuania for summer would mean going beyond the budget. Fortunately, certain circumstances made it possible. And so I was off to France for two weeks before I left for Lithuania for a month.
This entry is an excerpt of a one-week-and-a-half-worth of notes I managed to document at the end of every day.
